Location Fixers Guild of Okinawa

FGO is a private organization coordinated by local fixers in Okinawa and by the Public Institution. Our main endeavor is to spotlight more of Okinawa's fascinating shooting locations, and by doing so, we encourage foreign and domestic clients to capture more of what this Island can offer. We also strive to reach our goal by protecting the environment of our area and strengthening the structures of our industry while promoting them as well.

Compared to other prefectures in Japan, many International shootings (movie, drama, TV CM, etc.) are held here in Okinawa, and many structures support them; the local administrations, public institutions, and local location fixers, but all are performing separately in different ways.

Generally speaking, local location fixers are the one’s providing exclusively and professionally for filming here, but many are either in smaller businesses or self-employed, making necessary adjustments/managements individually.

Each company performs indifferently. Each having its own rules and regulation with no information shared and in some cases shootings held without permission, problems emerge such as shooting locations being ruined or causing issues to the local population. To avoid this situation, FGO will consolidate rules and share all information to a mutual understanding and agreement.

FGO will cooperate with local location fixers and the public organization, such as OCVB Okinawa Film Office and potentially attract location shooting grounds for filmmakers abroad together by protecting the environment of our area and strengthening the structures of our industry while promoting our cause to other such industries as well.

•  Environmental Conservation

Protecting location environment, improving morals, keeping rules, inspection of locations, request for cooperation with proprietor, deputize various application for license, position reinforcement of location fixers, etc.

Administration/Public Institution, Contents affiliation/cooperation, reinforcing shooting attraction

• Promoting to other group/industries 

Protection of environment, self-government association, hotel business association,promoting FGO in local facilities, making partnership, accepting medias from overseas. 

Location Conservation

• FGO will work hard on improving the shooting morals, keeping the rules, and reinforcing location conservation. We will gain the trust of the location fixers by externally promoting our thoughts about protecting the locations.
• By strengthening the connection between Administrations, Public Institutions, and groups that protects tourist attractions; we aim to maintain locations and better shooting environments for the associate members. 

Structure Reinforcement

• FGO is a gathering of location fixers and public institutions. We will be able to share business and location information.
• FGO will increase the recognition of the occupation of location fixers to administrations, public institutions, and other industries by working as a group instead of working individually.
